The Wanderer’s ULTIMATE Packing List

(for Travellers, not Tourists!)

Packing Trauma

Take yourself back to a time you leant over the suitcase in the hope that half your weight was enough to slide the zip closed and maybe failing so, as a last resort, sat on the case yet again in the hope that you not only slide the zip closed but do not damage any fragile items or cause a liquid explosion in the case too. Finally, you did it! You got the damn zip closed. Now hot, sweaty and frustrated, you reach for the weigh scales and pray to the luggage lords that you do not need to repeat this process.

The Motto

The thought of packing for a trip may start to raise stress levels for some, but after over a decade of travelling, I live by one simple motto: As long as I have my Passport and money, I will get somewhere (if you take any prescription medication, I would add it to this).

The intention is to travel, passports and some form of money are necessary whilst everything else you bring is a bonus. Having this in mind, when leaving for a trip clears out those worrying “what if I have forgotten…” thoughts from racing through your mind constantly.

It can be REPLACED

Many items can be replaced, even at the airport, at a premium price of course and yes, it may not be the exact same product, your favourite deodorant or the toothpaste you like the taste of the most but it is easily replaced. If you have packed any items that are precious to you, then I urge you to leave them at home. Airlines do not take into consideration the contents of your bags when they get lost. If you can’t bear to say goodbye to it, then don’t risk packing it.
